About Piano Forte
Piano Forte Music School offers high quality piano, theory, harmony, and history lessons. Students of all ages, abilities, and levels are welcome. We prepare students for RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) examinations, as well as various festivals and competitions (Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival, Richmond Music Festival, Burnaby Clef Music Festival, Festival on The Lake). Our students continue to achieve outstanding results in examinations and are frequently recognized with awards at competitions.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe that every student is unique and our program is designed to meet the individual needs of each student. Our goal is to provide an encouraging environment that is well-suited for musical development and enjoyment. Each lesson includes a balance of theory, sight playing, ear training, and repertoire appropriate for the student's competence. The professionalism and positive attitude of our teachers encourage and motivate students to succeed.
Students are encouraged to enhance their artistic development through participation in recitals, competitions, festivals, and adjudications through the British Columbia Registered Music Teachers Association (BCRMTA), National Professional Music Teachers' Association, and the Kelly Kirby Music Society. Studio recitals and other performance opportunities are also offered to our students throughout the year.
